Business and technology support for companies, investors and scientific institutes in Berlin – this is the mission of Berlin Partner for Business and Technology. Customised services and a highly efficient network form the ideal basis for helping companies to successfully innovate, settle, and secure their place in the region, and to expand.

BMWi business start-up portal

The Business Start-up Portal of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy is specifically geared towards start-ups and provides information on all issues related to the founding of a business, including comprehensive information on funding and financing.

Brandenburg Invest

Brandenburg Invest is the economic development agency of the state of Brandenburg. It offers businesses comprehensive services in order to help them grow – ranging from the selection of a suitable location for businesses, consulting services with regard to funding opportunities and technology projects to assistance during the search for skilled employees.

Enterprise Europe Network Berlin-Brandenburg

The Enterprise Europe Network Berlin-Brandenburg provides information and consulting services on innovation-oriented developments, initiatives and programmes of the European Union and offers assistance in the search for business and technology partners. It offers on-site guidance with regard to the immense quantity of information coming from Brussels. The experts in European matters spread across three host organisations, namely Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, Brandenburg Invest and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce East Brandenburg, which are closely connected to other specialists across Europe. Within the all-encompassing Enterprise Europe Network, they jointly offer integrated European services for businesses and are happy to serve as contact persons.

Funding Database of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy

The Funding Database of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy offers quick and easy access to Germany’s funding programmes as well as to the programmes of the states and the EU. Various search functions and a “funding assistant” complement the comprehensive service.

Funding Navigator for Brandenburg’s Economy

The new Fördernavigator (or “Funding Navigator”) lists and describes all of Brandenburg’s available programmes aimed at promoting the economy. Start-ups, businesses and municipalities are offered a tool that helps them to quickly and easily find perfectly fitting funding programmes.

German Federal Film Board

The FFA is Germany’s national film funding institution. It supports feature films of all genres at all stages of production and utilisation. In addition to its own funding activities, the FFA as a service provider is responsible for the administration of various funding measures of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture & the Media (abbreviated BKM), such as the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF), the BKM-funding, EURIMAGES and Ein Netz für Kinder (or “A Web for Children”).

ILB – Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg

The Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg (abbreviated ILB) is a business development bank of the state of Brandenburg. In addition to bridge financing, it offers a special so-called gap financing used for closing financial gaps in commercial film and television projects. Furthermore, the ILB, offers, among other things, technological and investment funding programmes (Pro FIT, “Gründung Innovativ” or “Innovative Start-up”), but also capital through equity companies. Investment Bank Berlin (IBB)

The Investment Bank Berlin (IBB) is a business development bank of the state of Berlin. In addition to bridge financing, it offers a series of funding instruments in the field of technology (Pro FIT), grants relating to personnel costs (Innovation Assistant), consulting services (Coaching Bonus) or capital through the equity company IBB Bet.

Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg

Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg is the focal point of the film and media industry in the German capital region. The division “Film Funding” provides funding for films, high-end drama series and film-related projects, it advises filmmakers with regard to financing issues, and supports the advancement of the film industry. The division “Location Development” fosters the image of Berlin-Brandenburg as a media location both in Germany and at the international level; it also provides up-to-date information and access to networks. Additionally, it supports media-related projects, the development of content in the categories games, web, mobile and VR as well as serial formats (web series, factual and entertainment). 

Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Brandenburg

The Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Brandenburg (abbreviated MWE) supports the development of the media and IT industries in the German capital region. In the past couple of years it predominantly offered support both in the form of political measures aimed at bringing companies to the region and in the form of funding. This caused a considerable number of companies from the media industry (covering such areas as traditional film productions and digital media) or from the IT industry to settle in the region or to expand.

Project Future

Project Future is the state-wide initiative by Berlin’s Senate Department for Economics, Technology and Research promoting structural change towards an information and knowledge society. Project Future supports the media and IT industries and integrates them into a network which also encompasses representatives of the sciences, politics and administration. It fosters technological, economic and cultural innovations and optimises the framework conditions for the growth areas of information technology, telecommunications, e-government and cultural industry.
