On March 11, together with the Berlin stakeholders Usetree, inovex, Denkwerk and D-LABS, we will provide information on the effects, opportunities and requirements of digital accessibility. After a short introduction, you will have the opportunity to talk directly to the experts at five stations and get answers to your questions!
Take your chance and get to grips with the topic, as the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG) will be enacted in June 2025.
Station 1:
Legal foundations of digital accessibility
A detailed insight into the relevant laws and guidelines on digital accessibility.
Station 2:
UX research with people with disabilities (round 1)
People with disabilities often use different ways to experience the digital world. Therefore: Don't think for them, develop with them!
Accessibility in design and writing (round 2)
How do we design digital content so that it is accessible for everyone? Important principles for accessible design and language.
Station 3:
Alternative text love match
Can you write the perfect alternative text? In this entertaining mini-gameshow, we tackle the second biggest pain point of digital accessibility together: bad or missing ALT texts.
Station 4:
Experience digital (in)freedom from barriers
How can you understand the perspective of those affected if you don't have any limitations yourself? Through practical challenges, you will learn how non-optimized websites make everyday life more difficult - and why every website should be accessible.
Station 5:
AI & accessibility - creating empathy for an inclusive web
Using the A11y-AI tool, we show how to develop empathy for different user needs and understand the challenges of digital barriers from a new perspective. Practical exercises show the impact of a lack of accessibility on individuals, society and your own company.
