The project aims to build digital infrastructures and services and to develop a strategy taking into account the needs and opportunities of the city.
Why does Berlin need a strategy?
On the one hand, Berlin is perceived as Germany's digital capital. Many areas of Berlin, especially the start-up scene, the digital economy and the research and science locations, are digital pioneers.
On the other hand, not all of the opportunities and improvements associated with digitalisation are being exploited in Berlin either.
First Phase | The Green Paper
The first phase, the Green Book, has now been completed. It systematically defines challenges, strengths and needs for action in the area of digitalisation and records them in writing. In order to make the development process of the Berlin Strategy transparent and to enable civil society to actively participate, a variety of offers for participation are being created.
Among other things, focus group discussions, stakeholder dialogues and a digital comment function are planned.
Second Phase | The White Paper
In the second and final phase, an overall strategy (White Paper) will be drawn up on the basis of the Green Paper. Here, goals, concrete measures and responsibilities are to be defined and realised.
